Evening Update 6 p.m.

Lydia is finally off of the diabetic diet-eating regular food including ice cream and jelly beans. What is a true friend? Friends who will pick all the purple jelly beans out of your pack of jelly beans if purple is your least favorite flavor! Lydia has been blessed with many true friends who have shown amazing love and concern every day. She got her stitches out of her face today -Audrey stopped counting at 32! She sat up 3 times today already. The first time was a bit rough but she is getting better and better as are her expert parent helpers. Blood pressure is slowly stabilizing. We still don't have a firm return-home day but maybe it will be tomorrow. The doctor has advised plenty of rest for Lydia to heal. We know Lydia will be anxious to see all of her friends but we will just take it one day at a time and keep this blog updated to let you know when she is up for short visits.

We're so glad to hear you are doing better and will soon be back in Birmingham. We, at VHEW, think so highly of your mom, and have had you and your family in our prayers from the moment we heard of your wreck.

We will continue to lift you up in prayer.

Lydia,

I know it is very hard and painful for you to sit up and move around but keep on pressing forward. I know you can do it and I believe in you! Remember that God is with you along with all your family and friends who are also all praying for you. My family and I are still praying for you as well :)

Respectfully,

Adam Sweda and family

Hey Lyd,

We are all thinking about you. David has a card he drew for you, and when we figure out where to send it we will drop it in the mail. Heal quickly - and we send our love to your mom and dad as well. Audrey and Jon, hang in there - we are praying for you too!

Love, Margaret Ann, Jon, David and Thomas

hey Lydia! Katie Sidwell here. Allan just told me about your wreck. He's pretty messed up about the whole thing, and his sorrow impressed upon me. I have been thinking about you constantly, and hope for your continual progress back to your normal peppy self! I know Allan will be happy when you return to the "dirty dirty," and he can come see you and bring you endless smoothies! Make sure to take this time and rest, and get your body and mind in sync, it will help for a faster recovery. everyone's thinking about you too, so that HAS to help! Oh yeah, and make sure you catch up on all those great shows you've missed. I highly recommend The Tudors, hot and gorgeous! As well as seeing the movie, The Mist. Stephen King did great job! Take care and lots of love-k80

Hey, Lydia! I've been keeping up with this blog since last weekend & wanted you to know that you've been in my thoughts and prayers throughout the week & will continue to be throughout your healing process. I miss you so much. I'm not sure if you knew or not, but Chris & I are planning to come see you at the end of the month (july 27-30, your birthday). Ginny says we need to come entertain since neither of you will be doing much entertaining... so, entertainment we will bring! Let me know if you have any special requests.
I love you, Lydia, and admire you so much for your strength and endurance in the most difficult situations. You are truly amazing.
Love, Carrie (BCF!!)

I meant to say, "since neither of you will be doing much moving," not "entertaining." I think everyone knows that you & Ginny about the funniest & entertaining people on earth. That was a clear typo. Love you, Lyd!
